Well 3 years later when you have mastered all of that then lets move on to 5th modes (Mixolydian)

These are shown as a chord symbol with a 7 after the mode note (i.e. C7 D7 Eb7 G7)

So when you see the symbol G7 you know that G is the 1st note of the mode and that G is the 5th note of the key (Cmajor)

The mode would be played : G A B C D E F G

To save counting 5 notes back ever time you see 5th mode you can use the cycle of 5th the notes going anti clockwise are in the order of 5ths so G is the 5th note of C, D is the 5th note of G and so on…..

Again spend lots of time on this chord you will remember that the Blues progression was made up of  5th mode chords so you could even try improvising over that progression actually reading the chords (Dare you!!!!!)
